SANKALP’s Ongoing Programs :
Support Education & Self-development Programs for Slum Children
Surveys of slums reveal that most of the parents are illiterate and they work as laborers or as household help. The rate of school dropouts is very high amongst their children.
Some of the thickly populated slums do not have nursery school in the vicinity. This results in children remaining away from the main stream of education forever.
Vocational Training for Needy Girls and Women
Most of the girls after completing educations up to 10th standard are unable to cope up with the higher education and are in need of some employable skills.
Health Care Center
Poverty prevents community people from affording the escalating cost of medical treatment. Further, due to illiteracy they are unaware of the basics of hygiene and preventive care.
Counseling and Support Center
SANKALP provides, with the help of community – based social workers and an expert panel of doctors, lawyers, chartered accountants, necessary counseling and support services in cases of dowry and marital disord.
